Thunder Hooves

For ~Twilight-Mustang.


It was quiet at the shore, besides the perpetual
sound of the sea and the soft shaking leaves of the
palms. The coast of the Argean Territory was known
as one of the most beautiful landscapes the whole
area had.
Suddenly, the screech of a few birds disrupted the
comfortable silence.
A few moments later, the thundering sounds of
hooves echoed from the cliffs. Fast, powerful,
vigorous.
Two stallions, which obviously had no look
for the overwhelming scenery they ran through.
Their horns glistened in the light of the setting
sun, their muscles tensed and erupted into pure
strength and speed in a short length of time.

It was something, young Argeans did much. They
wanted to know who was faster. Who was stronger.
Who was better.
It was clear by the look into their eyes, that this
was not for fun, although they were friends.
It wasn’t a game.
Both knew it would be important to win – as they
couldn’t forbear a defeat.
So, the thunder, produced by the young stallions’
hooves on the hard and dusty underground,
continued. And continued to the end of pride.

I worked on this so long!
A few days after I finished the first picture of spartan ([link]) I started sketching this, making the lineart, flat color and so on.
Then I was sick, then I did so much other projects, always wanting to finish this one - but then my creavity left me
I sketched out 6 (!!!!!) different backgrounds, changed the poses of Spartan and Kaleos many times, and in the end I hated it all, and left it for another few days.
And finally, three days ago, I found a picture of a sunset on my PC - and the flow was back!
I tried my best, my very very best. I left something "painterly" in the background, I hope you guys like it!

These two are ~Twilight-Mustang's amazing stallion Kaleos ([link]) and my Spartan, whom I adopted from her.
Both are pure Argean Unicorns.

I'm whacked right now.. I worked on it the whole day, believe it or not, but if you start things over and over again - that's just how it is! (:
